THE ENCOD BULLETIN ON DRUG POLICIES IN EUROPE
JANUARI 2018

Published on 16 January 2018  by Nico Vlaming
Happy New Year everyone! Another year in the war on people who use drugs is behind us! Although it is far from over, we have seen development in the right direction for some time now and 2017 was no exception to that trend. Unjust and ineffective drug policies are still the rule though, rather than the exception. Indeed, there is more than enough conversations to be had, information to be exchanged, letters to be written, marches to be walked and songs to be sang. The time is now. (...)

November 2017

The situation of cannabis in Italy is still very confusing, not least because the discussion of possible legalization does not seem to have had any positive consequences for the fate of growers and consumers who are still being prosecuted and incarcerated for "crimes" that have no victims. Even the situation of medical cannabis in Italy has not improved much since 2007 when Health Minister Ms. Livia Turco allowed the import of medical cannabis from the Netherlands. Originally, but with (...)

THE ENCOD BULLETIN ON DRUG POLICIES IN EUROPE
APRIL 2017

Published on 10 May 2017  by Richard Rainsford
Dear friends, This bulletin answers the most frequently asked question flying into our mailbox. In the last couple of years Amsterdam has been replaced as the cannabis capital of Europe. Barcelona is now the current hot destination for cannabis users, growers, breeders,… you name it. Although legally the situation in Spain is far from being ideal, many seekers of fortune believe they can find it there. Don’t get me wrong, cannabis is and will always be a flourishing business. To believe (...)

THE ENCOD BULLETIN ON DRUG POLICIES IN EUROPE
FEBRUARY 2017

Published on 22 February 2017  by Richard Rainsford
The Cannabis Social Club’s (CSC’s) continue their fight in Spain and are increasingly better organised. In 2015 Supreme Court sentences left a bad taste in the mouths of these groups, but that has given them more determination to fight and now these sentences are being appealed in the Constitutional Court, the tribunal that exists for the defence of human rights in Spain. The FAC (Cannabis Associations Federation (www.fac.cc), the platform that unites the many CSC’s in the country, held (...)
