A group of Czech experts in drug prevention and therapy have taken the initiative for the following letter supporting Andre Furst, asking all European drug policy experts to sign it.
On 23 August the District Court of Morat (Switzerland) sentenced André Fürst, the owner of Hemp-Info, to 29 months of prison (unconditional sentence) and to a fine of 150.000 Swiss francs (approx. 98.000 euros). Mr. Fürst’s crime consisted in the development of agro-industrial ecological methods of hemp utilization. André has become one more victim of the incomprehensible twist in Swiss drug policy.
OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF SWITZERLAND AND TO SWISS PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS AND MEDIA
Dear Mr. President, Mesdames and Messieurs,
We have been considering the Switzerland as a country that has not totally adhered to the hysteria of the inefficient War on Drugs. This war promoted by the USA all over the world rendered the most catastrophic results in drug prevention.
We have always been considering your country as a country having a rational drug policy.
Therefore we are very concerned by the trial and the subsequent sentence against Mr. André Fürst at the Court of Morat.
The activities of Mr. Fürst in the field of industrial and medicinal utilization of hemp are since a longtime well known in our country and his multilingual Internet website www.chanvre-info.ch/ is recognized for its high professional level.
Therefore we are asking you, Dear Mister President, Mesdames and Messieurs, to do kindly all your possible within the limits of law and in the best human interest in order to obtain the liberation of Mr. André Fürst and his exoneration of all charges.
